Climate Adaptation Needs Assessment: New England and New York

Forest managers need scientifically credible, relevant, and timely information on climate change, its effects on ecosystems, and potential management options in order to effectively respond to climate change. The Northern Institute of Applied Climate Science and Forest Stewards Guild are seeking input on key areas of uncertainty where managers have questions so that we can help promote science to address managers' needs. Here are two ways you can participate:

1. Share your thoughts online.

By taking a few minutes to click this link and answer seven short questions you will be helping us to frame important questions and develop resources to help our community of practice adapt forests to the changing climate.

2. Participate in a listening session.

During the fall and winter, we will be conducting a series of in-person listening sessions to explore science needs in greater detail.

  • Southern New England: Friday, November 16 in Amherst, MA
  • Maine: December 6 in Orono, ME
  • Other locations to be announced.
